JOB PURPOSE: To assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen while assisting in the preparation, cooking, and serving of the meal as directed by the approved menu.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assists in preparing daily meals in adherence to the approved menu.
Assists in ensuring food is hygienically stored and food storage areas are kept clean.
Assists in maintaining correct stock levels, stock rotation, and all stock is clearly labeled as required.
Always maintains a high standard of hygiene and safety through daily cleaning of areas and equipment.
Assists in maintaining the kitchen and kitchen equipment.
Ensures all utensils are washed properly.
Adheres to all Food and Nutrition Guidelines at local, state, and federal health guidelines during the preparation, cooking, and serving of all food.
Assisting in maintaining all waste materials are properly placed in designated waste (trash) areas.
Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow staff and participants.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience cooking.
Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to work well with individuals of all cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
Reliable transportation required.
Background check/drug screen.
SCHEDULE:
Part-time - (20-25 hours per week)
Monday-Friday.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
