JOB PURPOSE: The Classroom Support and Behavior Coach will collaborate closely with the Education Manager, Social Emotional Manager, center managers, and teaching staff to support the implementation of positive behavior strategies and classroom management practices. This position’s primary responsibility is to enhance classroom environments by coaching educators on effective strategies to promote positive behaviors while ensuring consistency in intervention techniques. The role will also involve providing guidance in data collection, behavior assessment, and helping staff implement developmentally appropriate supports for children’s behavioral needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  •  Coach teaching staff on best practices for classroom management and positive behavior strategies, ensuring they are aligned with all standards/policies.
  • Provides one-on-one support to educators in managing challenging behaviors and implementing individualized interventions in the classroom.
  • Conducts regular observations of classrooms, offering feedback to teachers.
  • Supports staff in understanding the purpose and function of behaviors.
  • Promotes the use of the Pyramid Model practices in classrooms.
  • Assists teachers in collecting and analyzing data on child behaviors to monitor progress and identify areas needing additional support.
  • Supports the development of individualized behavioral goals for children.
  • Ensures the documentation of behavioral interventions is aligned with program and regulatory data collection requirements.
  • Organizes and leads training sessions for teaching staff on classroom management, behavior support techniques, and child development principles related to behavior.
  • Coordinates with the Education Manager to ensure ongoing professional development opportunities related to behavior intervention strategies.
  • Provides follow-up coaching and support to staff after training to ensure successful application of new strategies in the classroom.
  • Supports educators in engaging with parents to reinforce positive behavior strategies and interventions in the home environment.
  • Provides resources and training to parents on how to implement consistent behavioral supports outside the classroom.
  • Collaborates with Education Manager and other leadership staff to ensure program-wide consistency.
  • Works as part of the educational team to create and refine classroom behavior management protocols.
  • Works in tandem with educational coaches to provide a practice-based coaching approach depending on the identified need.
  • Works with Social Emotional Manager and Education Manager to implement strategies provided by consultants, therapists, and/or counselors for children.
  • Participates in Center Collaboration Meetings to support the delivery of behavior-focused strategies across all classrooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience in behavior management in an early childhood education classroom highly preferred.
  • Must pass all required background checks.
  • Strong organizational and coaching skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Knowledge of the Pyramid Model and other evidence-based positive behavior support strategies.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Frequent mobility within classrooms, including sitting on the floor, bending, and engaging in hands-on activities with children and staff.
  • Ability to observe classrooms for extended periods of time and provide feedback to teaching staff.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
