JOB PURPOSE: Assists the Head Cook in carrying out his/her responsibilities of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen while being responsible for the preparation, cooking, and serving of the meal as directed by the approved menu.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assists in preparing daily meals in adherence to the approved menu.
- Assists in ensuring food is hygienically stored and food storage areas are kept clean.
- Assists the Head Cook with maintaining correct stock levels, ensuring stock rotation, and ensuring all stock is clearly labeled as required.
- Assists the Head Cook with maintaining a high standard of hygiene and safety through daily cleaning of areas and equipment.
- Assists the Head Cook with maintaining the kitchen and kitchen equipment.
- Assists the Head Cook with ensuring all utensils are washed properly.
- Assists the Head Cook with adhering to all Food and Nutrition Guidelines at local, state, and federal health guidelines during the preparation, cooking, and serving of all food.
- Assists the Head Cook with ensuring waste materials are properly placed in designated waste (trash) areas.
- Assists the Head Cook in putting up stock after deliveries.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow staff and participants.
- All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience cooking.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work well with individuals of all cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Background check/drug screen.
SCHEDULE:
- Part-time (25hrs/wk.).
- Monday-Friday, 7am-12:00pm.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
